Definitely not an upgrade!

The previous version was so much amend than the current version. Gone are the abilities to do the simple things like changing the aqueduct, looking at the guide so every time you want change the channel, you have to go back to the guide where information technology starts you all the fashion dorsum to the 1st channel. Can't look at the guide at the aforementioned time the alive idiot box window is active, you have to close all the way out, then its dorsum to the 1st channel all over once more. The app often crashes,then you lot accept to try to relaunch the app, the app says its already in utilise, which obviously information technology's not. Resolution is besides spotty, shifts from Hard disk drive to SD spontaneously, as well. Lastly, the buttons are so small, when you effort to use them the proximity to other role buttons creates bug trying to touch the correct ones. The selection buttons at the bottom of the screen are so close to the edge yous have too utilise the Apple tree Pencil just to go them to activate their function.

Leaves a lot to be desired!!

I used the "Old" app with my 722k receiver and had no issues, until You lot decided for me that I must upgrade to the Hopper to use information technology. Then I did upgrade and installed the New App on my iPhone. A very sad lamentable application. I have no issues watching my recordings while I am on the road. The problem is with watching Live Tv. The guide that pops up simply has a few channels on it. And so I delete app and reinstall, all channels are now in that location. Now I click on aqueduct I want to view and information technology is not Live Tv, merely some sort of a recorded loop. Close it downward and restarted, same outcome. Got frustrated and quit. Next day restarted app, now I have only a few channels over again in my guide. Uninstalled and reinstalled over again, all of my channels are back. I can really watch Live Television set now, nonetheless I am at dwelling house and exercise non need to watch on my iPhone. At that place are no issues with my domicile network and I have more than enough Mbps to ability my Hopper when I am not at home. While on the road I have full bars and great Wifi. Revamp is STILL terrible 7 months later

The old Dish Anywhere app was fantastic! I never had a problem with it, the interface was intuitive and the picture was as proficient as when watching my tv. This 'new' app (information technology'due south not actually new anymore) is ridiculous. Anytime I want to utilise it there are problems— missing recordings, low-quality video or programming that won't load at all—that I often just give up trying. I just spent 38 minutes on the phone with Dish considering I couldn't play any recordings (black screen with suspension bars in the centre). We solved that issue (yippee?) only the movie is still awful (barely SD and skipping) even though I am 3 feet from my modem.

I take no idea why Dish had to redesign/engineer the Anywhere app (to crack down on theft?). But for paying Dish customers this is a TOTAL step down from the previous version. And the few times I've chosen for technical help I hear, "We're working on it". Great. When's information technology going to be done?!?! Considering I'1000 fed up paying for Dish Anywhere and never being able to use it.

Finally, the client service rep I spoke to was an arrogant wiggle who would non listen to me, talked over me and, as a event, the call probably took longer than it needed to.
